I found out about J-Force back in February 2014 while scrolling through a blog like every other 23 year old. I decided to contact the recruiter and I was invited to a Business Opportunity Meeting in Lagos. I couldn’t tell my mother that I wanted to travel from Delta to Lagos by myself for a potential business opportunity so I scrambled around to get my transportation fare. At the end of the meeting, we were told those of us that would get accepted would be contacted via email. I can still remember the exact spot I was standing in when I got the email that I had been accepted to be a J-Force agent; finally I got my dream job!
After I got the email, I started familiarizing myself with the categories of products sold on Jumia and I decided to concentrate on Fashion. I have learnt so much about the world of business as well as the fashion & beauty business. I have learnt things that I couldn’t have been taught at school because experience really is the best teacher.
I was a 23 year old receiving over N 100,000 monthly as my salary. My mum was so proud of me as she has always been a believer that women need to be independent. Thank you Jumia for Jforce and for giving young girls and women the opportunity to work for their money and take pride in their trade.
