A couple of hours before the start of Mobile Week 2016, I was at one of our suppliers’ warehouse waiting for the Jumia truck to arrive so we could move the items down to our warehouse and have them processed in preparation for the sales event. After waiting patiently for hours, the Delivery Associate called me to inform me that he had a flat tyre and would not be able to make it before the supplier’s warehouse closed.
A mini panic attack, some running around, hardcore negotiations, and N 3,000 later, I was able to rent a truck from a sawdust park close to the supplier. We loaded the truck and I drove it down to the Jumia warehouse by myself (yes, me; a female).
Come Monday morning, I was proud to see customers placing orders for the items and not having a clue the amount of work that had gone into making it possible.
Best part of all this is that if I had to do this all over again, I would get to work in a heartbeat!
